Art has definitely been a huge journey for me. Out of boredom one day, I filled this meme in, and have been wary to post it here. However, I think it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the other great art out there. It can be super inspiring, but at some times overwhelming to someone, like myself and probably a lot of others, who is there own worst critic. It’s important sometimes to take a step back and not freak out about how much work you have ahead of you, but rather how much you’ve grown. Normally I keep all my art organized by year, but it was a little more eye-opening to see it all laid out in one image- all the change that my art has gone through. It makes all the learning and improvement I have ahead of me a little more exciting and slightly less scary. (And on a side note I also shook my head a lot at how bad I used to be…)
So there you go! That’s my inspiring, fortune-cookie speech for the day. Never stop learning, trying, and making mistakes!

Batgirl for Sketch Dailies! A little late, as usual, but I was really enjoying working on this illustration, and wanted to add in a bit of background. I feel like I’m finally finding a good balance between linework, texture, and shading.

So not gonna lie, I wasn’t terribly into Sailor Moon growing up. I occasionally caught an episode or two, only because my brother had a huge weird cartoon crush on her…. Anyway, I ramble. She is pretty fun to draw with all that hair so I thought I’d give this a shot for @Sketch_Dailies.

For @Sketch_Dailies. Today’s theme was cat burglar. Well. She’s a cat, and she stole my happiness. So that counts. On a side note, I think this is the first time I’ve finished a sketch daily on the day it was announced.

Finished up Vanellope tonight before bed. Wreck-It Ralph is one of my favorite Disney movies that’s come out lately. I loved so much about it, and Vanellope is such a fun character. Even though I love Frozen too, Wreck-It Ralph had a stronger message to me, and I felt I could relate to Ralph.

    Doodles n Company Update →

I’ve added a few of my pieces to johnsorci and my website- Doodles n Company. We’re really pushing to try and grow as artists and push this collaborative portfolio- we’ve got the goal of getting an online store of some sort up and running, and maybe even getting a table to sell goodies at a con in the future.

So if you get a chance to check out our work- we appreciate it!
